Welcome to the 2012/13 school year at the new Lemon Grove Academy for the Sciences and Humanities! The staff and I have planned extensively to create an innovative and inspiring school experience for our students. Our goal is to help students contemplate the important questions “Who am I?” and “Who do I aspire to be?” These questions will be explored through rigorous research-based curriculum and activities that present real-life experiences.
The Lemon Grove Academy campus has undergone massive modernization with state of the art classrooms, including one to one computer to student ratio in core classes and interactive white boards to promote student engagement and active learning, outdoor learning areas, science labs and much, much more. I believe you will be excited and able to feel the positive energy when you visit the campus. In addition, the construction of the joint-use 14,000 square foot San Diego County Library is on schedule with a grand opening date in early 2013.
As you plan the next couple weeks you will want to pay close attention to the following dates and times:
August 22nd Office Opens (enrollment hours 8:00 – 2:30)
August 30th Middle School Orientation (11:00 – 1:00)
September 4th First Day of School
The arrival of a new school year always brings about a great deal of excitement. This year will definitely live up to these expectations.
